PM Internship Scheme 2024

The Finance Ministry on July 23 launched a comprehensive scheme for “Top 500 Companies” internships for one crore youth in the government over five years under the Fifth Plan of the Finance Ministry. Under the scheme, students will get to experience real-life business environment, different cities and employment opportunities for 12 months. An internship batch of Rs 5,000 per month and a one-time assistance of Rs 6,000 will also be provided.

Under this scheme, the first phase will be of 2 years, and the second and third phases will be of 3 years. Companies participating in this scheme will compete to bear 10 percent of the training cost and internship cost from their Community Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. What is the top 500 economics?

The company will decide which top 500 companies will be included in the internship scheme and in which you will get paid for being an intern. They will have to decide their participation in Scotch themselves. This scheme will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 will take two years and Phase 2 will take 3 years.

Both the government and the company will share the expenses

For PM Internship Scheme 2024, the government will give a grant of Rs 54 thousand per month and Rs 6000 per month. While the company got Rs 6000 as monthly allowance from CSR fund. The company will bear the training expenses. The Finance Ministry has said that where needed, this scheme will be linked with the initiatives related to state exploration.

Who will get the benefit of this scheme

PM Internship Scheme 2024 is applicable only to those who are not employed or engaged in engineering education and the age group is between 21 to 24 years. Companies offering internships will have to do shortlisting on the basis of objective criteria, with special attention to companies with low employability.

Who will not get benefit in this scheme

According to the indicative list shared by the government, candidates having qualifications from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IIScR), CA, CMA etc. are not eligible for internship. Those whose family members are in government jobs or are economists are also not eligible.
