UP Govt to Build Vedic-3D Museum in Varanasi [Current Affairs]
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the construction of a Vedic-3D museum at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency. This state-of-the-art museum will focus on Indian astrology, astronomy, and Vedic literature. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement during his visit to the university, highlighting its role in showcasing the evolution of Vedic literature, including the 16 Sanskars, 64 arts, and 18 Vidya Sthans, as well as the contributions of Indian sages.
Museum Features and Objectives
The museum will exhibit rare manuscripts preserved in the historic Saraswati Bhawan, such as the “Raas Panchadhyayi,” Shrimad Bhagwat Gita, and Durgasaptashati, all intricately inscribed and adorned with gold artistry. It aims to revive the tradition of ‘Shastrartha’ (spiritual discourse) and serve as a platform for deepening knowledge in Vedic literature.
University Inspection and Development
During his visit, CM Yogi Adityanath also inspected the 234-year-old main building of the university. He approved the proposal to reintegrate the Government Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya, Chaukaghat, as a faculty of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. The Chief Minister emphasized improvements in infrastructure, including the installation of Sanskrit signboards, enhancement of sewer and drainage systems, repair of dilapidated roads, and the construction of a boundary wall.
Administrative Directions
CM Yogi instructed the establishment of bicycle and vehicle stands at the Ganganath Jha hostel and emphasized cleanliness and prompt repairs. He directed the completion of essential tasks, such as replacing worn-out wiring.

The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma, UP’s Minister of State for Stamp and Court Registration Fees Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of State for AYUSH and Food Security Dr. Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, former minister and MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, and other prominent officials and public representatives.
